Being the antipodean vagrant that I’ve become it still takes me a while to shift evenly with the seasons. As we work our way into one season here in the north, friends to the far south are walking their way into the opposite. Sifting through memories of the Great Southern Land my mind drifts to images of shuffling through the grey-greens and browns of bush flora debris – eucalypts and their allies in particular. Lingering heat radiating through the cloud-gaps torn apart by the cooler winds way up into the blue and the crush of the Summer wrack underfoot atomising that heady menthol…
